On The Ground
A new year brings fresh perspective, and for many executives, a renewed resolve to find the “next thing”. With the book closing on 2025, bonus payouts on the horizon, and the mental clarity that comes with some time off, many leaders are open to new opportunities. Of the hundreds of participants in the Aequitas Healthcare Executive Compensation study, 68% are open to new opportunities, and remarkably, of that cohort, 2/3 started a new job just this year! The most at risk are Product, all BD / Sales roles, and Operations. Compensation was cited as the #1 reason for change (30% of respondents), followed by mission / product (21%), and leadership (19%).
There’s not much that can be done to increase compensation if there’s no ability (or interest) in doing so. Companies need to be able to demonstrate the importance of the mission, coupled with a strong team to achieve big goals. This can compensate (no pun intended) for the dollars in the short term with upside in the long-run.
