On The Ground
Earlier this month, CB Insights published the State of AI Q1’25 Report, stating that healthcare dominated the new AI unicorn pool at 55% of companies. In fact, these companies made up 30% of all new unicorns across venture. As technology evolves faster than ever, even incumbents like pharma companies, health plans, and hospitals are starting to think about how to integrate it into their workflows. And startups that aren’t thinking about integrating it, risk being left behind.
What that’s led to on the talent side is a resurgence in demand for Product and Technology leaders - ones who have a crystal ball and can strategically plan for the future, integrating AI into the workflows. Where product and tech roles were barely in existence in 2023/2024 compared to 2020/2021, the demand for acute skillsets in new modalities is on the rise.
